Health and Safety Compliance Coordinator
About the role
The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring compliance with state childcare licensing regulations, health department requirements, and company policies. They will conduct routine facility inspections, maintain accurate records, reports, certifications, and compliance documentation, and prepare for and support regulatory inspections and licensing visits.
Responsibilities
- Conduct routine facility inspections
- Maintain accurate records, reports, certifications, and compliance documentation
- Prepare for and support regulatory inspections and licensing visits
- Stay current on changes to health, safety, and childcare regulations
- Implement and monitor health and safety policies and procedures
- Conduct risk assessments and identify opportunities to improve workplace safety
- Ensure proper sanitation, infection control, and emergency preparedness protocols are followed
- Oversee incident reporting, investigations, and corrective action plans
- Cook emergency drills, including fire, severe weather, lockdown, and evacuation procedures
- Train staff on health, safety, and compliance requirements
- Provide ongoing coaching and guidance regarding Goddard’s Health and Safety requirements and safety best practices
- Coordinate with vendors and maintenance personnel to address safety concerns promptly
- Monitor health standards and corrective actions
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience in compliance, health and safety, childcare operations, education administration, or a related field
- Knowledge of childcare licensing regulations and workplace safety practices preferred
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic recordkeeping systems
- CPR/First Aid certification or ability to obtain certification upon hire
- Experience conducting audits and compliance inspections
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to continuous improvement
- Experience delivering training and presentations
Qualifications
- Ability to move throughout the school and playground areas
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally
- Ability to respond quickly during emergencies
