About Guideship

Guideship is a nonprofit workforce development organization dedicated to creating career pathways for underserved communities through mentorship, internships, apprenticeships, workforce readiness training, and cybersecurity education. Over the past three years, our affiliated workforce development initiatives have invested more than $700,000 to develop and mature a nationally recognized Cybersecurity Apprenticeship Program. The program has become one of Maryland's leading cybersecurity apprenticeship models, serving individuals from underserved communities and helping graduates launch careers in technology and cybersecurity.

Description

The Workforce Development & Education Chair provides strategic guidance regarding educational programming, workforce readiness, apprenticeships, certifications, and participant outcomes. The Chair helps ensure that Guideship programs remain effective, relevant, and aligned with workforce needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise on educational and workforce development strategies.
  • Support curriculum and program quality.
  • Aid in apprenticeship and workforce partnerships.
  • Review participant outcomes and performance metrics.
  • Support grant development and educational partnerships.
  • Help identify opportunities for program expansion.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Community college leader, educator, workforce development executive, apprenticeship specialist, or training professional.
  • Experience with workforce development programs.
  • Understanding of educational pathways and adult learning.
  • Commitment to economic mobility and educational opportunity.
