Workforce Case Manager

Duties & Responsibilities
- Receives referrals from the case management team and develops individualized plans to assist each youth with their employment goals.
- These plans often include standardized vocational assessments, soft skills training, interview techniques, mock interviews, job searches, application and resume development, and job retention skills.
- Works closely with the workforce team to coordinate the annual Summer Jobs Program for youth under the age of 21.
- Develops and facilitates workforce training sessions, including participation in Life Skills Training and Job Readiness courses.
- Collaborates closely with direct supervisor to develop partnerships with local employers who will hire referred youth and local workforce agencies, such as Workforce Solution Offices, which provide job readiness services to youth and young adults.
- Completes monthly reports; enters all case note documentation into the agency database within a required time frame; and maintains adequate case and financial records.
- SUBMITS REQUESTS FOR PAYMENT FOR YOUTH WHO QUALIFY FOR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE THROUGH THE TWC CONTRACT, TO INCLUDE HOUSING ASSISTANCE, RENTAL ASSISTANCE, UTILITY PAYMENTS, DRIVERS' EDUCATION, AND OTHER APPROVED EXPENSES.
- Participates in, assists with planning, and attends HAY Center events and Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) statewide and regional activities as required.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Human Resources, Education, Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, Criminal Justice or other Behavioral or Social Science.
- Experience: Two (2) years of full-time paid work experience in workforce development.
- Training and experience using a personal computer with a variety of software such as Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel.
- Licensure: Reliable transportation with a valid Texas driver’s license and auto liability insurance.
- Ability to become CPR Certified.

- Knowledge and understanding of adolescent/transition age youth stages of development.

- Ability to contribute effectively to the accomplishments of team or work unit goals, objectives, and activities.
- Knowledge of human resources techniques utilized in workforce development, career assessment, interviewing, recruitment, and training.
- Computer proficiency.
- Ability to use a case management database. Case documentation. Clerical skills.
- Follows written and oral instructions.
- Ability to drive a 15-passenger van.
General Information
- Position Type: Grant Funded
- Typical Hours of Work: Full-Time Monday-Friday 8am-5pm or 9am-6pm (Some Saturdays)
- Salary Range: Based on 26 Pay Periods Plus, Mileage Reimbursement
