About the role

The Call Center Care Coordinator - Workers' Compensation Specialist plays a crucial role in coordinating patient care for injured workers, ensuring accurate and complete documentation, and facilitating communication between various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Work effectively in a high-volume, fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Navigate and use practice management systems to manage patient care efficiently.
  • Communicate with providers, adjusters, case managers, and patients to ensure smooth care coordination.
  • Administer administrative reviews of medical records and treatment notes to ensure completeness and compliance.
  • Secure and process authorizations for continued care of injured workers.

Requirements

  • One year of experience working with Workers' Compensation cases.
  • Athena experience is preferred.
  • A high school diploma or GED.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of authorization and verification processes, billing authorization, and proficiency in arithmetic calculations.
  • Ability to communicate openly and honestly with management and staff.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of worker’s compensation.
  • Understanding of physician group operations and clinic policies.
  • Experience with authorization and verification processes.
  • Skills in the billing authorization process.
  • Ability to reduce denials through proficient use of these processes.
