About the role

The Department of Labor & Industry with the Bureau of Workers' Compensation Office is seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented, analytical individual for a Workers' Compensation Health and Safety Training Specialist.

Responsibilities

  • Lead in person and virtual classes that teach important health and safety practices
  • Create and update educational content such as presentations, pamphlets, and other training resources
  • Guide employers in meeting safety requirements including Certified Workplace Safety Committee standards
  • Review training sites to ensure accessibility, proper equipment, and an environment that supports learning
  • Help employers understand and follow Pennsylvania Worker and Community Right to Know requirements
  • Monitor and assess training programs to strengthen their quality and effectiveness

Requirements

This particular position also requires possession of a valid driver's license. You must meet the PA residency requirement.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Three years of professional experience in planning, developing and conducting health and safety training or education programs, which included the development of lesson plans; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Other Requirements: Possession of a valid driver's license.

Pay

In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Schedule

Full-time employment. Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. The expectation will be that employees will be onsite two days a week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.
