Responsibilities
- Consult with clients to evaluate, manage, and influence workers’ compensation claim management programs, enhancing Lockton's ability to attract and retain business.
- Define and drive claim program goals and objectives to positively impact overall results.
- Ensure all parties meet obligations in a timely and accurate manner.
- Coordinate with Loss Prevention and other departments to provide unified assessments and recommendations.
- Analyze data to identify claim trends and measure program performance.
- Review client claim programs and compare against best practices.
- Write reports assessing programs and recommending improvements for implementation.
- Demonstrate clear understanding of coverage and legal issues, communicating these to influence claim outcomes.
- Utilize technical skills to ensure appropriate reserves are in place on files meeting review criteria.
- Provide the highest level of service to all customers, internal and external.
- Support Lockton’s business strategies and the goals and initiatives set for the Claim Team.
- Advocate on behalf of Lockton clients while nurturing positive working relationships with insurance carriers and vendors.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with clients to attract and retain business.
- Contribute to client satisfaction and continuously improve service.
- Communicate positively with all Lockton associates to foster a cohesive, pleasant team environment.
- Protect the confidentiality of information obtained through job duties.
- Exhibit high competence in timely, concise, and accurate written and verbal communications.
- Attend team meetings, educational workshops, vendor functions, and social events.
- Travel to client, carrier, vendor, or Lockton locations, including overnight stays, and account for business expenses accurately and responsibly.
- Facilitate resolution of claims by acting as liaison between clients, insurance carriers, and vendors.
- Utilize public speaking skills to participate in formal presentations to prospective and current clients, communicating clearly and with authority.
- Communicate complex issues concisely and make strategic recommendations with professional acumen.
- Embrace change and growth by enhancing skill sets and contributing ideas to team strategies.
- Participate in ongoing education to improve job performance and service delivery.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, related field, or equivalent practical insurance claim management experience.
- Proficiency in evaluating, interpreting, and communicating property and casualty insurance coverage to clients.
- Ability to professionally interact with businesspersons at all levels and communicate information succinctly.
- Substantial knowledge of Third Party Administrator practices and procedures, with skills to develop long-term partnerships meeting client needs.
- Proven experience evaluating the accuracy of property and casualty claim reserving practices.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize workloads and meet deadlines with limited oversight.
- Ability to work with current computer software and hardware with minimal instruction.
- Proven leadership, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills to resolve complex issues.
- Strong negotiation skills to influence positive outcomes in the claim management process.
- Compliance with Lockton’s ethical business standards.
- Ability to keep all parties informed of critical issues and communicate progress effectively.
- Proficiency in using office equipment such as computers, calculators, copiers, and fax machines.
- Fluency in English, with strong communication skills via phone, teleconference, webex, in writing, and in person.
- Legal right to work in the United States.
