Job Description Inverse Paradox, a growing digital agency in the Philadelphia area is seeking a new mid-to-high level WordPress WooCommerce Developer to add to its tightly knit team. Since 2007, Inverse Paradox has embraced the WordPress platform as the backbone to all its website offerings for clients ranging from the small business next door with just a few editable pages of content to international publications utilizing complex taxonomies generating 100,000s of pages. In this role, if you’re looking to diversify your WordPress and WooCommerce skill-set, IP caters to the opportunity to push the limits and experience growth and self-fulfillment with every project. Responsibilities Programming, developing, website coding, and producing data-driven web applications, websites using WordPress and WooCommerceCollaborate with designers, developers, and project managers on client projectsConsult with clients as neededContribute to the development of the misc. company special projectsManage your own time & development between multiple projects & clients to meet deliverablesFollow and contribute to our internal standardsKeep up on the latest trends and best practices in web developmentOther duties as assigned Qualifications & Skills FRONTEND Excellent knowledge of HTML5/XHTML, XML, AJAX, JavaScript/jQuery, CSS3Excellent knowledge of WooCommerce and WordPressStrong understanding and experience with SASSExperience with responsive design without dependence on frameworksThe ability to translate PSDs and other assets created by design team into cohesive websitesStrong sense of visual designAn understanding of front-end optimization techniquesKnowledge of usability / user experience design is a plusExperience maintaining version control using Git BACKEND Strong experience with custom WordPress theme development, including accommodating full user editability, complex layouts, and plugins that require theme customization – we don’t work with prebuilt themes so it is important to have the ability to create complex setups from scratchExperience creating custom themes for use with WooCommerceFamiliarity with various commonplace and proven plugins such as: Advanced Custom Fields, Gravity Forms, The Events Calendar, s2Member, BuddyPressExperience with creating custom WordPress plugins is a plusThorough understanding of custom post types and taxonomiesWorking knowledge of basic PHP and MySQLAn understanding of programming security best practicesFamiliarity with issues in web design & development and accessibility is a plusFamiliarity with using command line tools on Linux servers is a plusFamiliarity with using git for source control is a plusInvolvement in the open source community is a plus Requirements 3+ years experience with WooCommerce and WordPress3+ years front-end development, solid project-level experience with WordPress, HTML, CSSPrevious development firm/agency experience preferred Benefits Inverse Paradox has a great team, competitive pay, offers exceptional benefits, a casual work environment, and plenty of perks like locally roasted coffee to get through the day, and fridge stocked with beer for when you’re wrapping up.
