Worcester MA Personal Care Management Skills Trainer

About the role

A community-based Skills Trainer for the Personal Care Attendant Program will educate consumers and their surrogates on managing consumer‑directed hands‑on care, oversee department‑wide skills‑training tasks, and serve the Worcester, MA area (up to a 60‑mile radius from the employee’s home).

Responsibilities

• Follow up on assigned functional skills training in a timely manner as determined by contract.
• Assess consumers and/or surrogates’ ability to manage PCA services.
• Train consumers and/or surrogates in the skills needed to manage their PCA program per the Mass Health Service Agreement and PCM Contract.
• Maintain confidentiality in all consumer‑related matters.
• Attend in‑person or virtual trainings and meetings as requested, including monthly 1‑1 meetings with the supervisor.
• Demonstrate working knowledge of program policies, procedures, and Mass Health regulations.
• Demonstrate commitment to the Independent Living philosophy of consumer control.
• Report all suspected incidents of consumer sexual/physical abuse and neglect to the Disabled Person Protection Commission (DPPC) within 24 business hours.
• Work within company policies and the PCM Contract to complete and track required documentation within timelines.
• Handle assigned referrals, intake documentation, service agreements, assessments for re‑evaluations, and supportive documentation as needed.
• Return all phone calls from surrogates and consumers within 72 business hours.
• Document administrative and communication progress notes in real time.
• Document visit and travel progress notes within 48 business hours.
• Complete 10‑12 in‑person home visits per week.
• Complete and submit skills training paperwork within 48 business hours.
• Verify and approve Dayforce timecard daily.
• Update Outlook calendar daily.
• Provide a weekly productivity report as requested by the immediate supervisor.
• Use TripLog for all in‑person home visits and business‑related travel.
• Submit mileage and expense forms by the 15th of each month.
• Return all required email communications within 48 business hours.
• Follow up with supervisor or other departments on skills‑training and tracking reports (non‑billing, overbilling, overtime, ineligible consumers).
• Provide training and ongoing support for EVV.
• Provide Issue Focus training as requested.
• Provide consumer status updates (pending intake, quarterly, surrogate change, annual reviews).
• Travel required: cover up to a 60‑mile radius from home address; must have a valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle.
• Attend 2‑day in‑person orientation in Stoughton and 2‑3 weeks of training in Stoughton.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Skills Trainer Supervisor or Management.

Qualifications

• Experience providing services for people with disabilities and knowledge of PCA programs is preferred.
• Experience or education in teaching or counseling is helpful.
• Knowledge of community resources and social service systems is beneficial.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and writing skills.
• Basic computer skills in Microsoft Office/Outlook and ability to navigate databases.
• Specialized training provided as needed.
• Required Education: Bachelor’s Degree preferred; GED or High School Diploma required.

Pay

$21 per hour.

Schedule

Full‑time, 35 hours per week, Monday‑Friday, 8:30 am – 4:30 pm.
