Job Responsibilities

Serves as the Outreach Program Coordinator for the WIC Program under the supervision of the Lead WIC Coordinator. Duties include:

  • Educating and informing the public and community partners about the WIC program.
  • Assisting the WIC Services On Wheels Team in developing community partnerships.
  • Establishing contacts with community agencies to promote WIC services.
  • Planning, conducting, and participating in WIC outreach events.
  • Visiting doctor's offices, clinics, and hospitals to share information about the WIC program.
  • Facilitating access to WIC services by acting as a liaison between WIC and the community.
  • Increasing WIC awareness and participation by working with DSS WIC Eligible Reports and other assigned reports.
  • Working closely with the WIC Management Team, Area leadership, and front-line staff.
  • Participating in the development and implementation of the annual WIC Outreach plan.
  • Completing administrative and program tasks as assigned.
  • Preparing and presenting oral and written reports on WIC outreach activities.
  • Tracking program outcomes to ensure continued progress and growth of outreach events.
  • Maintaining documentation to track outreach progress.
  • Completing quarterly and annual outreach reports.
  • Performing other duties as assigned, including public health emergency response.

Minimum And Additional Requirements

  • A high school diploma and relevant program experience.
  • An associate's degree and five (5) years' experience in administrative, management, or professional experience.
  • A bachelor's degree and two (2) years administrative management or professional experience.
  • Advanced computer skills and office equipment knowledge.
  • Able to work with limited supervision.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bilingual in Spanish.
  • One (1) year minimum WIC Admin experience.

IMMUNIZATION: All new employees who are healthcare providers are required to provide documentation of immunity or be immunized against Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Pertussis, Varicella, and Hepatitis B prior to beginning employment.
