Wireless Infrastructure Engineer, Junior

We’re seeking a Wireless Infrastructure Engineer to help develop IT systems prototypes and experiment with emerging IT and 5G wireless technology to support critical mission use cases. You’ll collaborate with clients and a diverse team of technologists to understand strategic goals and operational needs, then plan and implement IT infrastructure components. This role offers the opportunity to grow your skills in IT system planning, configuration, scripting, 5G, and cloud technologies while advancing your network engineering experience.

Responsibilities

  • Develop IT systems prototypes and experiment with emerging IT and 5G wireless technology.
  • Work with clients and technologists to understand strategic goals and operational IT requirements.
  • Plan and implement IT infrastructure components.
  • Resolve interoperability issues across platforms.
  • Support the prototyping of solutions.
  • Develop technical briefs and convey technical concepts to varied audiences.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of experience with IT infrastructure systems.
  • 1+ years of experience with network design and integration of network technologies.
  • Experience implementing, configuring, and operating virtualization solutions, including VMware.
  • Experience with container technology, including Docker, and container orchestration, including Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions.
  • Ability to implement, configure, and operate servers, including Windows and Linux.
  • Active Secret clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of networking concepts and principles.
  • Knowledge of cloud concepts and principles.
  • Knowledge of wireless and cellular communication networks, including 4G and 5G.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Microsoft Certified Administrator or RHCS Certification.
  • CCNA, CCNP, or 5G Certifications.

Full-time and part-time employees working at least 20 hours a week on a regular basis are eligible to participate in Booz Allen’s benefit programs. Individuals that do not meet this threshold are eligible for select offerings, excluding health benefits.

Pay

Salary is determined by various factors, including location, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $53,000.00 to $108,000.00 (annualized USD).

Schedule

This role may be remote, hybrid, or onsite:

  • Remote: Occasional in-person work at a Booz Allen or customer facility may be required.
  • Hybrid: Frequent work from a Booz Allen facility, with potential visits to customer facilities as needed.
  • Onsite: Work primarily performed at a Booz Allen office or customer facility, with direct collaboration as required.

Employees working virtually are generally expected to have their cameras on during meetings to support engagement and effective communication.
