About the Role
We are looking for a Wire Cutter to join our Rexel USA team in Hayward, CA. The Wire Cutter is responsible for efficiently and accurately fulfilling orders for wire and cable cuts utilizing material handling equipment and wire reeling/coiling machinery. Ensures wire/cable is stored, staged, and cut in a manner that meets company standards for safety, security, accuracy, and productivity. May be required to fill in for other warehouse roles.
Schedule
This position's schedule is from 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM Monday through Friday.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to a culture and environment focused daily on employee safety and a safe work environment.
- Follow established Standard Operating Procedures, Environmental Health and Safety Rules, and immediately address safety concerns.
- Perform daily machine checks and operate material handling equipment and powered material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Retrieve and cut wire efficiently and accurately for requested customer shipments.
- Examine wire for conformance to specifications and remove defective pieces.
- Fill all orders efficiently and accurately, ensuring outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage.
- Place reel of specified wire onto payout spindle of machine and thread wire through feed rolls, adjusting machine controls as needed.
- Stack and store merchandise in the appropriate area and stage wire cuts in the designated shipping area.
- Maintain a minimum standard in wire cuts in compliance with current company policies for accuracy and productivity.
- Report any damage to electronic hardware, work machines, or pipe racks immediately to a supervisor.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 1+ years of wire cutting experience preferred.
- Prior warehouse or distribution center experience a plus.
- Certification to operate forklift, hand truck, pallet jack, and other warehouse equipment preferred.
- High School diploma or GED preferred.
- Knowledge of Radio Frequency scanning devices preferred.
- Must be willing to be trained on material handling equipment (e.g., forklift, stand-up reach truck, High-Reach Narrow-Aisle, Stand-Up Rider pallet Jack) that conform to OSHA safety training requirements.
- Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers and customers.
- Ability to handle basic issues and problems.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations to accurately complete job tasks.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines and work overtime as needed.
- Basic computer knowledge.

- Must have a valid driver's license (if required to make deliveries).
- Must be at least 21 years of age (if required to make deliveries).
- Must pass a pre-employment and annual review of Motor Vehicle Record (if required to make deliveries).
- Must obtain verification of non-expired medical certificate as required by law within 60 days of hire (if required to make deliveries).
- Must not have had a suspended driver’s license for a traffic accident/violation within the past 3 years (if required to make deliveries).
- Must not have any at-fault accidents in the past 3 years (if required to make deliveries).

Pay
For the state of California only, the pay is $21.27 to $26.00 per hour, depending upon qualifications, experience, and other considerations permitted by law.
