About the role

Rexel USA is one of the largest distributors of electrical products, data communication, wireless communication and related supplies in the United States. We are looking for a Wire Cutter to join our Platt team in Sumner, WA. The Wire Cutter is responsible for efficiently and accurately fulfilling orders for wire and cable cuts utilizing material handling equipment and wire reeling / coiling machinery.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to a culture and environment focused daily on employee safety and a safe work environment.
• Follow established Standard Operating Procedures, Environmental Health and Safety Rules, and immediately addresses safety concerns.
• Perform daily machine checks and operates any material handling equipment and powered material handling equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
• Retrieve and cut wire efficiently and accurately for requested customer shipments.
• Examine wire for conformance to specifications and remove defective pieces.
• Fill all orders efficiently and accurately, ensuring outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage.
• Place reel of specified wire onto payout spindle of machine and thread wire through feed rolls.
• Adjust machine controls to regulate factors such as wire thickness, pressure, heat, and cutting and stripping length.
• Stack/store merchandise in the appropriate area and stage wire cuts in the appropriate shipping area.
• Maintain a minimum standard in wire cuts in compliance with current company policies in both accuracy and productivity.
• Report any damage to electronic hardware, work machines, or pipe racks immediately to a supervisor.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of wire cutting experience preferred.
• Prior warehouse or distribution center experience a plus.
• Certification to operate forklift, hand truck, pallet jack, and other warehouse equipment preferred.
• High School or GED - Preferred.

If required to make deliveries, must have a valid driver's license, be at least 21 years of age, pass a pre-employment and annual review of their Motor Vehicle Record, obtain verification of non-expired medical certificate as required by law within 60 days of hire, and not have had a suspended driver's license for a traffic accident/violation within the past 3 years or any at-fault accidents in the past 3 years.

Skills

• Knowledge of Radio Frequency scanning devices preferred.
• Must be willing to be trained on all material handling equipment: forklift, stand-up reach truck, High-Reach Narrow-Aisle, Stand-Up Rider pallet Jack that conform to OSHA safety training requirements.
• Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers and customers.
• Ability to handle basic issues and problems.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations to accurately complete job tasks.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines and work overtime as needed.
• Basic computer knowledge.

Pay

For the state of Washington only, the pay range is $26.00 to $31.00, depending upon qualifications, experience, and other considerations permitted by law.

Commission/Bonus Plan: Platt Distribution Center Bonus Plan.

Schedule

Must be able to work overtime as needed.
