About the role
Fond du Lac Part-Time Wine and Spirits Clerk/Cashier reports to the Wine and Spirits Department Manager. This role is at the heart of the guest experience, helping guests find the perfect pairing for any occasion.
Responsibilities
- Help guests find what they're looking for, offer recommendations, and take special orders.
- Deliver great service by answering questions, resolving concerns, and ensuring every guest feels supported.
- Work alongside associates and leadership to meet department goals and maintain high standards.
- Maintain inventory levels, ensure accurate pricing, and keep shelves stocked and organized.
- Operate the register with accuracy and a smile.
- Ensure cleanliness by helping maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for guests and team members.
- Communicate and collaborate with vendors, managers, and fellow associates to exceed expectations.
- Honor commitments by being regular, timely, and providing adequate notice for absences.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years of age to sample products sold in the wine and spirits department.
- Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with customers.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Thorough understanding of all safety requirements and company safety policies.
- Ability to apply on-the-job safety training to recognize and react to possible safety hazards on store premises.
- Proper training and knowledge of equipment/procedures such as hand jack, baler, forklift, pallet jack, trash compactor, proper lifting techniques, and proper scanning techniques.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Occasional exposure to extreme temperatures.
- Standing for long periods of time; walking in the store; bending, stooping, and kneeling regularly.
- Fine finger and broad manual dexterity, and eye-hand-foot coordination.
- Full range of upper body motion for occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Repetitive tasks for prolonged periods.
- Functional sensory abilities for visual monitoring of the store, creating attractive displays, and operating equipment.
Work Schedule
The work schedule may include mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays within the individual's availability.
