Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, test, deploy, update, and patch DTMO Government Off-The-Shelf (GOTS) and Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) applications on Windows platforms
- Troubleshoot application issues and respond to user inquiries, ensuring timely resolution and system availability
- Perform routine application maintenance, including reviewing error logs, diagnosing issues, and implementing corrective actions
- Configure user access controls and monitor application stability, performance, and security throughout the software life cycle
- Support logging and monitoring tools that capture security events and integrate with DMDC-approved monitoring systems
- Cook up with DMDC IT System Administrators to resolve infrastructure issues affecting application performance and availability
- Provide technical support and guidance to DTMO users, system administrators, and IT leadership
- Serve external system connectivity, including white listing activities, port and protocol configuration, submission requests, and validation processes
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including network diagrams, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and port and protocol inventories
- Support Governance Board processes, including preparation of documentation, change request reviews, level-of-effort estimates, impact assessments, and stakeholder coordination
- Participate in disaster recovery testing to ensure restoration of DTMO enterprise services, including the DTMO Passport website
- Restore normal operations following incidents, conduct root cause analysis, and apply ITIL best practices for incident and problem management
- Maintain production systems and respond to outages within established service-level requirements, including notifying the government IT manager within 10 minutes of detection
Skills and Experience
- Obtain and maintain a Tier 3 (T3) or higher background investigation
- 5+ years of experience administering applications in Windows Server environments
- Experience supporting Windows-based applications in enterprise or government IT environments
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server operating systems and Microsoft Windows environments
- Experience with application installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and lifecy le management
- Familiarity with Active Directory, Group Policy, and Windows system services
- Experience administering Internet Information Services (IIS)
- Understanding of system monitoring, performance tuning, and troubleshooting methodologies
- Experience supporting change management, patch management, and system updates in controlled environments
- Ability to diagnose and resolve complex application issues in collaboration with infrastructure and development teams
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively within cross-functional IT teams and federal program environments
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including technical documentation
Education and Certifications
- Required: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or relevant professional experience in systems or application administration)
- Preferred: Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) certification (accepted in lieu of bachelor's degree)
- CompTIA Security+ ITIL Foundation Certification
