About the role

The Windows Administrator is responsible for administering, maintaining, and supporting Microsoft Windows server environments. This role ensures the availability, performance, security, and reliability of Windows-based infrastructure while supporting operational requirements, patching, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Administer and support Windows Server environments, including installation, configuration, and maintenance.
• Perform system monitoring, performance tuning, and capacity planning for Windows infrastructure.
• Manage Active Directory services, including user accounts, group policies, and access controls.
• Support patching, updates, and vulnerability remediation for Windows systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve system, application, and performance issues.
• Implement and maintain backup and recovery processes to support business continuity.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and application teams to support enterprise initiatives.
• Maintain system documentation, procedures, and operational runbooks.
• Support audit and compliance activities by providing technical evidence and documentation.
• Participate in after-hours or on-call support as required for critical incidents or maintenance activities.

Requirements

• Experience administering Microsoft Windows Server operating systems.
• Working knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, and Windows-based infrastructure services.
• Experience with system monitoring, patch management, and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with backup, recovery, and disaster recovery practices.
• Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional infrastructure and support teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in enterprise or regulated IT environments.
• Exposure to security best practices for Windows systems.
• Familiarity with virtualization platforms and infrastructure automation tools.
• Relevant Microsoft or infrastructure certifications.

Schedule

This is a hybrid position requiring 3 days a week in the office in Blue Ash, Ohio.

US Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a US DoD security clearance is required. All work must take place within the US. Employment eligibility verification will be required at the time of hire.
