Wind Project Superintendent I or II
Remote position with 100% travel required. Regular rotations home every 3 weeks: work Monday–Saturday for 3 weeks, then 7 days off.
About the Role
Client is seeking a Superintendent to coordinate, plan, and supervise assistant superintendents, contractors, and craft activities in a specific discipline. Develop and enhance customer relationships by providing excellent service. Experience with cranes and foundation concrete is a plus. Must be able to create and manage schedules, including 3-, 6-, monthly, and quarterly look-aheads, and provide examples of scheduling tools used. Experience with self-perform work is required; managing sub-contractors only is not desired. Wind experience is a plus, but industrial and utility-scale project experience is more important.
Responsibilities
- Plan and implement strategies to ensure materials, equipment, and inspections support the project schedule.
- Review construction documents for completeness and constructability; understand contract documents and coordinate plans with design engineers.
- Develop and manage project schedules, site logistics plans, and collaborate with project partner superintendents.
- Coach, supervise, and develop team members; conduct orientations, planning sessions, and site meetings.
- Supervise project partners, including interviewing, hiring, transferring, or dismissing team members.
- Ensure proper task coding, lead and track work progress, handle team member training, and conduct career development discussions.
- Build effective relationships with individuals of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels.
- Lead by example, offer coaching and feedback, and manage performance.
- Provide high-level management of safety, quality, risk, and compliance; recognize and mitigate unfavorable conditions; seek process improvements.
Requirements
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, Architectural Engineering, or Construction Management, OR 10 years of trade experience.
- 5+ years of experience on large-scale projects.
- Current driver’s license.
- Ability to fulfill development-to-closeout responsibilities for multiple, complex projects.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multi-task management skills.
- Basic understanding of construction law and business practices.
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills.
- Positive, professional attitude and strong customer service skills.
- Ability to interpret and communicate company policies.
- Effective communication, active listening, and openness to diverse input and feedback.
- OSHA 30 Certification.
- Ability to lead all levels of employees, from craft to superintendents, and mentor/coach foremen, general foremen, and superintendents.
