Wind Substation Superintendent
About the role
We are seeking an experienced Wind Substation Superintendent to support utility-scale wind energy projects across Texas and Oklahoma. This is a 12-month contract opportunity with strong potential for extension with a leading renewable energy and utilities owner-operator. This is a site-based role requiring a hands-on field presence, with an expected schedule of up to 60 hours per week.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the construction of high-voltage (HV) substations
- Support the execution of renewable energy projects, with a focus on wind projects
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and quality standards
- Manage and oversee subcontractors to ensure project success
Requirements
- Extensive experience in high-voltage (HV) substation construction
- Strong electrical construction background
- Experience supporting renewable energy projects, with wind project experience highly preferred
- Proven ability to oversee field execution, safety, quality, and subcontractor performance
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in HV substation construction
- Experience in managing and supervising teams in a construction environment
- Knowledge of renewable energy systems, particularly wind projects
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Skills
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Proficiency in project management tools and software
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
