About the role
The Streets & Fleet Manager oversees the maintenance and operation of the Town’s streets, fleet, and related infrastructure. This position is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating activities related to street maintenance, fleet management, and public works projects.
Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise the Town’s street maintenance program, including pavement maintenance, signage, striping, and traffic control devices.
- Oversee the Town’s fleet management program, including vehicle and equipment maintenance, replacement, and procurement.
- Coordinate with other departments, contractors, and agencies on public works projects and infrastructure improvements.
- Develop and manage the annual budget for streets and fleet operations.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations related to streets, fleet, and public works.
- Prepare reports and presentations for the Town Council and other stakeholders.
- Respond to citizen inquiries and concerns regarding streets, fleet, and public works issues.
- Supervise and evaluate staff, including hiring, training, and disciplinary actions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Public Administration, or a related field.
- Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in street maintenance, fleet management, or public works, including two (2) years in a supervisory capacity.
- Valid Arizona driver’s license.
- Certification as a Public Works Manager or ability to obtain within one (1) year of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with municipal government operations.
- Knowledge of Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) standards and regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and public works management software.
