Wholesale Area Manager

About the role
The Wholesale Area Manager works closely with Directors of Sales, Regional Directors of Operations, and Regional Product Management to align Wholesale Branches with company and regional strategies. This role ensures focus on increasing sales, profitability, and market share in the assigned market by collaborating with Branch Sales Managers and Branch Sales Reps while driving key operational performance metrics. The Wholesale Area Manager critiques branch merchandising, operating systems, policies, procedures, and processes for improvement opportunities and fosters collaboration, sharing, and development within their respective markets. This position also assists in recruiting and developing Branch Sales associates to build a strong talent pipeline.
Responsibilities
- Oversee branch operations and sales & profitability goals for a group of Wholesale branches in an assigned market.
- Formulate strategies and action plans to maximize sales at each respective Wholesale branch.
- Ensure each Wholesale branch implements and maintains the highest level of customer service.
- Work directly with local sales teams to develop strategies for increased traffic and gather dealer feedback on customer service efforts.
- Participate in recruiting, hiring, and training new Sales Associates, Branch Sales Reps, and Wholesale Branch Sales Managers.
- Manage Wholesale Branches to develop, coach, and motivate teams to meet monthly sales and EBIT targets.
- Conduct regular audits, sales, and business reviews using business intelligence (BI) tools to identify opportunities for increased sales and profitability.
- Analyze situations and make recommendations for correcting operational processes.
- Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing to a wide variety of skill/knowledge levels, including excellent presentation skills.
- Develop leaders in Wholesale Branches to maintain a strong leadership pipeline.

Qualifications
- Minimum: High School or GED.
- Preferred: 4-year bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
- 3+ years of demonstrated sales leadership experience.
- Retail or distribution knowledge/experience preferred.
- Sales leadership in B2B sales, including sales and margin growth, is a plus.

Pay
Salary Range: $100K - $130K
