Job Summary

The Regional Manager, HR Business Partner will lead HR functions in alignment with business objectives within a designated region. This role will assist in promoting positive relations, implementing HR initiatives, mitigating risks, and working independently and collectively with the Director, Human Resources & Labor Relations USA.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Direct reporting relationship and supervisory responsibilities of Manager, HR Business Partners and Generalist, HR Business Partners within the designated region.

Day-to-Day Support

  • Support and counsel employees, supervisors, and managers regarding HR best practices, policy interpretation, policies, HR compliance, and appropriate workplace conduct.
  • Serve as the liaison within the assigned region between corporate HR and the stations, being the first point of contact for questions regarding legal and/or policies and procedures.

Analysis and Reporting

  • Analyze trends and metrics for assigned region HR teams to develop solutions in efforts to drive results.
  • Maintain records and compile/disseminate statistical reports concerning employment-related data such as hires, terminations, performance reviews, unemployment claims, and turnover and make recommendations for improved performance on all metrics.

Culture and Work Environment

  • Lead and support performance processes including annual reviews, 1:1 meetings with direct reports, introductory reviews, and performance management for exempt and non-exempt employees.
  • Evaluate the culture and work environment at stations and make recommendations to station leadership for improvement.

Policy Compliance

  • Ensure consistent application of all Swissport policies and procedures as well as federal, state, and local law.
  • Assist in leading issues raised through assigned employment relations, Open Door or SpeakUp cases.
  • Evaluate recommendations to separate employees from employment at Swissport while ensuring consistent application of corrective action and progressive discipline.
  • Audit compliance of state employment law, federal employment law, and local regulations of assigned stations.

Training and Development

  • Keep abreast and maintain in-depth knowledge of new employment law, HR trends, and overall strategies.
  • Coordinate or conduct other training that aligns with policies and practices as required.

Field HR Share Point Site

  • Perform other related duties, assigned tasks, or strategic tactical projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field/discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in human resources, leading teams, leading multi-unit/regional teams, or a combination of all.
  • Previous experience of supervising and evaluating the work of others.
  • Working knowledge of employee relations.
  • Working knowledge of all areas of human resources.
  • Basic financial acumen including P&L knowledge; 1 year of experience managing a P&L preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of SharePoint and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Able to analyze long-term implications of business decisions.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to clearly articulate position with clarity at all levels.
  • Able to obtain commitment from internal and external stakeholders.
  • High energy and high motivation, with tolerance for stressful situations.
  • Strong work ethic with a can-do, self-starting attitude.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • High proficiency in spoken and written English.
  • This position requires and one must have the willingness to travel up to 75%, sometimes with little notice.
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR professional certification, or the ability to obtain professional certification in the first two years in the position.
