West Point VPC Team - UBC Team Lead

About the role

The Facility Maintenance Specialist oversees and provides safe, effective, and timely maintenance to meet daily production needs and goals. They ensure facility maintenance is conducted according to daily, weekly, and monthly schedules and supervise the facility maintenance team and support departments to complete maintenance requests.

Responsibilities

• Effectively oversee and lead facility maintenance team members
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities
• Create and implement maintenance schedules to maximize equipment uptime
• Conduct regular inspections to identify maintenance needs, safety concerns, and potential improvements
• Respond to emergency maintenance requests, as needed
• Tracks and manages West Point VPC work order software
• Delegate tasks effectively and ensure team cohesiveness and productivity
• Aid in contacting vendors for general repairs
• Develop and maintain effective maintenance procedures
• Train facility maintenance team members
• Perform vehicle mechanics and parts replacements
• Carry out light to heavy industrial building maintenance
• Handle light to moderate industrial plumbing
• Execute industrial preventative maintenance
• Execute light to heavy industrial painting
• Keep company premises and facilities clean and hygienic
• Implement workplace safety policies and standards
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Ability to communicate effectively with vendors and internal departments
• Skills in organizing and prioritizing work activities
• Ability to read and write, and follow verbal and written instructions
• Ability to use hand tools
• Facility maintenance experience
• Work order systems experience
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Associate degree preferred
• 4 years of direct experience in facility maintenance and/or multiple industry trades
• 6 years of direct experience in facility maintenance and/or multiple industry trades preferred
• 2 years of indirect experience required
• 4 years of indirect experience preferred
• 1-3 years of supervisory experience required
• 4-7 years of supervisory experience preferred
• Valid driver’s license with good driving record
• HVAC / Electrical / PLC / Plumbing training preferred
• Accredited technical college certification preferred
