About the role
Lead a team and provide direct service to homeless, forensic, or aging clientele to help them stay out of institutional care and remain connected to their communities. This position manages administrative, fiscal, and quality improvement functions to promote the highest standard of service provision. Work happens both in the office and out in the community, with a focus on finding permanent housing for homeless individuals. The Hedco Wellness Center serves clients seeking assistance with housing, employment, behavioral health, food, healthcare, and more, helping them build individualized wellness plans for healthy, active lives through natural supports.
Responsibilities
- Meet clients where they are to implement consumer-centered services that are needs-driven, strengths-based, and culturally relevant.
- Manage the flow of referrals, intakes, and discharges of participants, ensuring accessibility and a welcoming environment for all.
- Oversee revenue and expenses for the Wellness Center Program.
- Act as an available and engaged manager, supervising staff including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
- Provide individual and group supervision to interns collecting clinical experience and hours for licensure, if applicable.
- Hold direct services teams accountable for delivering the highest quality services to clients.
- Challenge the status quo and identify opportunities for continuous quality improvement (CQI), implementing relevant systems.
- Ensure services comply with all funder requirements, including documentation, grant management, presentations, and reports.
- Communicate effectively using strength-based language and philosophy in all aspects of program management and supervision.
- Participate in trainings for agency, professional, and personal development.
- Consistently assess program activities and facilities for potential risks and address issues promptly.
- Collaborate with program managers, property management, and partners operating out of the Hedco location.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree required; BA preferred in a related field.
- Three years of experience managing teams and progressive administrative, direct service, and leadership skills in the social service field.
- Two years’ experience in behavioral health, rapid rehousing, temporary housing, permanent supportive housing, or shelter services.
- Experience with Coordinated Entry System (CES), HMIS, Medi-Cal, and/or CalAIM.
- Demonstrated capacity to lead diverse and multi-disciplinary teams toward a common goal.
- Valid California driver’s license, personal vehicle, and proof of personal vehicle insurance coverage. DMV printout required.
