Position Overview
The Wellness Center Assistant II supports the KANA Wellness Center by providing exceptional customer service, managing member records, promoting wellness programs, and maintaining a clean and safe environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome, assist, and orient new and existing Wellness Center members
- Register members, maintain participant records, and verify eligibility for Wellness Center services
- Affiliate with daily facility operations, including opening and closing procedures
- Provide basic instruction on the safe and appropriate use of fitness equipment
- Support members in utilizing electronic membership software and wellness tracking tools
- Promote Wellness Center programs, personal training services, group fitness classes, and community wellness initiatives
- Affiliate with marketing efforts, outreach activities, and community health events
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized facility, including minor custodial duties and laundry
- Provide front desk and administrative support for Rehabilitation Services as needed
- Answer phones, assist visitors, and provide excellent customer service to members and guests
- Collaborate with staff, community partners, and program participants to support health and wellness goals
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum one year of experience in customer service, clerical support, fitness, recreation, wellness, or a related field
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with a passion for helping others achieve health and wellness goals
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Experience with membership management software or fitness-related technology preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds
- Ability to multitask and work independently in a customer-focused environment
- CPR and First Aid certification required upon hire (training provided by KANA)
Work Schedule
KANA's standard work schedule is 37.5 working hours per week, consisting of 7.5 paid working hours per day plus a one-hour unpaid lunch break (8.5 hours on site per day).
