Wellness Center Assistant

About the role

The Wellness Center Assistant supports the Director of Student Involvement in overseeing Wellness Center equipment and usage by athletics teams, as well as assisting the PE140 and PE141 instructors in tracking course attendance.

Responsibilities

• Support Wellness Center patrons on appropriate fitness activities in a safe and healthy manner.
• Coordinate with the Director of Student Involvement on equipment conditions regularly.
• Provide an annual update on possible wellness equipment needs.
• Communicate with the PE140/PE141 instructor on recorded visits each semester.
• Ensure appropriate care, cleaning, and maintenance of all equipment and facilities of the Wellness Center is conducted daily.
• Maintain record files for workout waivers by individuals each semester.
• Keep up-to-date list of approved/authorized students, staff, and faculty each semester.
• Adhere to Wellness Center budget.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1–2 years of experience as a college or high school coach working with proper wellness center techniques, or a current personal training certification with related fitness instruction experience.
• Certified or willing to become CPR/AED/First Aid Certified.
• Recent experience with overseeing wellness center activities as supervisor or supervising athletes in wellness center setting.

Physical Demands

• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials up to 25 pounds with proper equipment.
• Reasonable accommodations available.
• Light physical activity required.
• Must be able to work in an office setting, use standard office equipment, and communicate effectively in various formats.
• Primarily daytime hours with some evening and weekend support for College events and initiatives.
