Key Responsibilities
- Load raw materials or components into automated weld fixtures or robotic weld cells.
- Unload finished welded parts and place them in designated containers or racks.
- Visually inspect welds for basic quality issues such as missing welds, burn-through, or misalignment.
- Monitor weld cell operations and alert the supervisor or maintenance team of any malfunctions or abnormalities.
- Clean weld spatter and perform minor maintenance or touch-ups on fixtures as directed.
- Follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area in line with 5S and lean manufacturing principles.
- Assist in the changeover of tools, fixtures, or materials as needed.
- Record basic production or inspection data as required.
Qualifications & Skills
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- No prior experience required; on-the-job training will be provided.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks while standing for extended periods.
- Physically capable of lifting up to 40 lbs. and working in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Reliable, punctual, and safety conscious.
- Familiarity with basic welding processes or robotic machinery.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Willingness to learn and grow into more technical roles over time.
Work Environment
- Automotive manufacturing plant with exposure to laser machinery, metalworking equipment, noise, and heat.
- Required to wear PPE, including safety glasses, gloves, arm guards, high visible belt or vest, and steel-toe boots.
- Shift work, overtime, and weekend availability may be necessary based on production schedules.
