Welding Adjunct Instructor "Pool"
Job Responsibilities
Adjunct instructors may teach at the Lex D. Walters Campus and/or at one of the college’s six county centers located in Laurens, Newberry, Edgefield, Saluda, Abbeville, and McCormick. Opportunities may include daytime or evening classes, online instruction, and dual credit courses offered at local high schools.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, teaching a diverse student body in accordance with established syllabi at various locations, utilizing instructional technology, and applying a variety of effective teaching methods. Additional duties include planning, managing, and delivering course instruction; following all EPA and OSHA regulations that pertain to the program; participating in college functions as needed; and applying teaching practices that support the continuous improvement of both the program and the college.
Minimum And Additional Requirements
- A minimum of five years of experience in the welding field and an associate degree, or five years of experience along with relevant industry certifications.
- Proficient in SMAW, GMAW, and GTAW welding processes on plate, pipe, and structural steel.
- In-depth knowledge of the welding trade and the ability to effectively share this knowledge with others through instruction and training.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior teaching experience, particularly at the community or technical college level or in secondary education settings.
