Major Responsibilities
Candidates considered for adjunct positions under this postings must be able to provide instruction in person at the Evansville, IN campus.
Program Operation
- Perform all instructional duties necessary to teach and facilitate student learning in assigned classes.
- Provide syllabus appropriate to course(s) being taught to students and follows syllabus content and requirements.
- Maintain student attendance and grading records according to College policy as outlined in the Adjunct Handbook.
- SUBMIT requested information within established timelines.
Students
- Is available to students outside scheduled class time to answer questions/provide assistance.
- Deal with student concerns and, if necessary, consult with program coordinator to resolve issues.
Instruction
- Meet all scheduled classes of contracted course(s).
- Use technology such as Blackboard, Canva, PowerPoint, etc. as appropriate.
- In event of emergency absence, notify program/department chair.
Minimum Qualifications
- A qualified fulltime faculty member meets the education component of the School of Technology Discipline Standard Through One Of Three Routes
- Possesses an earned baccalaureate or higher degree, from a regionally accredited institution in technology, engineering, engineering technology;
- Or An earned baccalaureate or higher degree directly related to the program’s discipline and possesses any specialized certifications required for the class being taught as indicated in the Curriculum of Record (COR) and two years of directly related work experience that is specifically linked to the competencies listed in the Curriculum of Record (COR);
- Or Possesses an earned baccalaureate or higher degree, from a regionally accredited institution and possesses any specialized certifications required for the class being taught as indicated in the Curriculum of Record (COR) and, five years of directly related work experience that is specifically linked to the competencies listed in the Curriculum of Record (COR);
- Or Possesses an earned associate or higher degree, from a regionally accredited institution directly related to the program’s discipline and, possesses any specialized certifications required for the class being taught as indicated in the Curriculum of Record (COR) and three years of directly related work experience that is specifically linked to the competencies listed in the Curriculum of Record (COR)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience providing instruction at a post-secondary institute.
- CWI (Certified Welding Inspector) and CWE (Certified Welding Educator) or willingness to obtain certification.
