About the role
The Welding Adjunct Instructor is a position housed at the Advanced Manufacturing and Training Center (AMTC) near TSC's main campus. The Adjunct Instructor's major function is to effectively lead the evening welding program, creating an ideal learning environment, maintaining an appropriate balance of discipline, and being able to transfer knowledge to students, while staying abreast of evolving regulations within the industry.
Responsibilities
- Effectively lead the evening welding program
- Create an ideal learning environment
- Maintain an appropriate balance of discipline
- Transfer knowledge to students
- Earn AWS certifications
- Teach and train students on welding skills
- Support course logistics including scheduling and curriculum development
- Oversight of student support services such as advisement, orientation, and job placement
- Coordinate maintenance of student performance profiles, audit records, attendance records, and grades
Requirements
- Dependable, highly responsible, independent, self-starting
- Ability to interact with a diverse student population
Qualifications
- Welding certification
- Experience teaching welding
- Knowledge of AWS standards

Evening classes: Mondays – Thursdays 6:00pm – 9:30pm, plus some office hours
