Job Summary
Concrete Industries, Inc. is seeking a self-motivated, hardworking, and reliable certified welder to join their team. This position involves skilled welding work in the fabrication and repair of precast concrete building components.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Work as directed in the erection and welding of precast concrete building components.
- Ensure all assigned equipment is maintained in safe, working order.
- Fabricate weldments, embeds, and sub-assemblies as directed.
- Study drawings to determine repairs or construction required.
- Inspect job sites; make preparations for safe welding projects.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and/or Experience
- Welding Certification, Diploma, or Degree; related experience preferred, but not required; or equivalent combination of education, experience, and/or training.
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations
- Valid Driver’s License
- Ability to become AWS-certified welder rated in, at least, flat and vertical weld in reasonable time after employment begins.
Other Qualifications
- Good understanding of welding principles, techniques, materials, tools, and equipment.
- Working knowledge of metal properties.
- Knowledge of OSHA, NEBCO, and Concrete Industries safety policies.
- Flexible work schedule during busy seasons and ability to work late or irregular hours.
- Willingness to continue training requirements.
Physical Demands
- Frequent climbing, balancing, standing, walking, using hands and fingers, handling, feeling, reaching, bending, lifting, stooping, twisting, carrying, turning, and squatting.
- Repeatedly stooping, bending, lifting, turning, twisting, carrying, turning, squatting, reaching, and feeling.
- Must be able to lift 100 lbs. to a height of 48".
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to read and interpret documents, speak effectively, and taste or smell.
- Must wear personal protective equipment.
Work Environment
- Regular exposure to outside weather conditions, high, precarious places, irregular work surfaces, fumes or airborne particles, extreme heat, toxic or caustic chemicals, and vibration.
- Noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
- Extended shifts and occasional overnight stays may be required.
- Non-smoking facility and environment.
