Summary Of Responsibilities
Responsible for the safe and efficient fabrication of steel products. The Welder II is a mid-level welding position, with all work being completed with some supervision.
Essential Position Responsibilities

- Follow all company safety and quality requirements.
- Mastered all aspects of level 1 position.
- Qualified in welding disciplines required for the facility.
- Able to work on semi routine assignments.
- Requires minimal help from supervisor on new tasks.
- Shows initiative to recognize areas of opportunity within current standard procedures.
- Maintains technical qualifications required for positions.
- Prompt and dependable attendance.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills And Qualities
- Exhibit knowledge of material identification, equipment utilization and welding equipment set-up and maintenance.
- Fits and welds subassemblies into final position with flat or horizontal welds.
- Accurately measures to specified tolerances.
- Performs flat and horizontal welding.
- Advanced knowledge of weld symbols.
- Basic oxy fuel and/or carbon arcing.
- Able to final inspect welds.
- Able to do basic Layouts.
- Understand and follow oral and written directions.
- Ability to read a tape measure (imperial and metric).
- Ability to work with others.
- Ability to work safely and accurately.
- Ability to accept responsibility and account for his/her actions.
- Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.
- Ability to be truthful and be seen as credible in the workplace.

Education And Work Experience
- A high school diploma or GED required.
- 2+ years of welding experience preferred.
