Welder Level 2

About the role

The Welder Level 2 performs both MIG and TIG welding on carbon steel and stainless-steel components with intermediate to advanced proficiency. The position requires the ability to work from complex blueprints, fabricate custom parts, and ensure compliance with internal and customer quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform MIG and TIG welding on carbon steel and stainless steel to precise tolerances
• Read and interpret detailed fabrication drawings and weld symbols
• Perform welds in multiple positions (flat, horizontal, vertical, overhead)
• Conduct quality control checks, including dimensional verification and basic NDT preparation
• Assist in developing jigs, fixtures, and process improvements
• Maintain welder logs, repair records, and consumable usage documentation

Requirements

• 2+ years of professional welding experience or equivalent technical training
• Proficient in MIG and TIG processes on carbon and stainless steel
• Familiarity with ASME and AWS welding standards preferred
• Strong understanding of welding metallurgy and heat-affected zones

Physical Requirements

• Lift 50+ lbs
• Bend, kneel, and stand for long durations in shop and field environments
