Key facilities include the 600,000 sq ft Center for Excellence in Manufacturing in Sedalia, Missouri, and the 500,000 sq ft Center for Excellence in Lifecycle Care in Houston, Texas.
Responsibilities
- Use Tig welding equipment and fixtures to repair turbine subcomponents.
- Prep and weld common steels, alloys, joints, and geometry.
- Create jigs, chills, argon backups, etc. as needed.
- Read and interpret work instructions.
- Use measuring equipment like micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and measuring tapes.
- Perform minor assembly and disassembly tasks.
Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience plus 5 years’ experience TIG welding super-alloys.
- Pass a weld test for GTAW (Gas Tungsten Arc Welding) in 1G horizontal.
- Weld plate coupon inspections and bend tests must be passed.
- Must have US work authorization.
- Successful candidate must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
Qualifications
- Good hand-to-eye coordination.
- Knowledge of exotic metals or super-alloys.
- Able to pay attention to detail.
- Experience using pneumatic grinding tools.
- Ability to weld and prep parts.
- Skills in blending contours.
- Basic hand tool proficiency for disassembly/assembly.
- Ability to work under limited supervision.
- Understanding of EHS policies and ability to follow warnings.
- Commitment to results and continuous improvement.
