Welder- 2nd shift
About the role
Rice Lake Weighing Systems has been a leader in the weighing industry for nearly 80 years, known for its success and growth. As a welder, you will be responsible for manufacturing the toughest scales in the industry.
Responsibilities
- Operate carbon air-arc, pencil grinders, disk grinders, cutoff wheels, and other hand tools as needed
- Lay out and fit various parts and assemblies while using various types of welding equipment set up in a variety of positions, such as flat, vertical, horizontal, and overhead
- Ensure high quality work and safe practices are followed
- Perform other functions as assigned
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Welding degree or 2 (two) or more years of manufacturing welding experience
- Working knowledge of the practices, materials, methods, and tools of the welding trade
- Working knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions of the trade, and of the properties of ferrous and non-ferrous metals
- Ability to read and speak English
Qualifications
- Ability to read and speak English
- Good hand-eye coordination and dexterity
- Good communications skills required
- Ability to efficiently read a tape measure and other inspection tools
- Overhead crane and forklift experience preferred
Skills
- Working knowledge of the practices, materials, methods, and tools of the welding trade
- Working knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions of the trade, and of the properties of ferrous and non-ferrous metals
- Skill in the use and care of tools and equipment
- Ability to read blueprints and other manufacturing documentation
