Reports to: Metals Supervisor. Cooperates with: Fabrication, Substrate Assembly, Shipping.
About the role
The welder is responsible for MIG & TIG welding of aluminum, steel, and stainless-steel parts, ensuring each job is completed with safety, accuracy, and timeliness in the welding area.
Responsibilities
- Perform MIG & TIG welding based on product needs, including round and rectangular elements.
- Read and interpret project plans, blueprints, and other written instructions to perform tasks.
- Apply knowledge of quality control (QC) and product specifications.
- De-bur and grind metal as necessary to achieve proper surface texture.
- Conserve resources to maintain budgetary integrity and client satisfaction.
- Follow welding safety procedures and use provided PPE.
- Perform Substrate Assembly Technician duties as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma.
- 1+ year(s) of experience with metal working equipment in a metal fabrication facility.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Ability to produce high-quality products in a timely manner.
- Proficient in using tools such as tape measure, calipers, forklifts, and cranes.
- Welding certification is a plus.
- Prior experience as a MIG or TIG welder is helpful.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. individually and heavier items with a team lift.
- Knowledge of safe workplace practices.
