Welder - 2nd Shift

About the role

The Welder is responsible for welding fabricated parts to print and specifications, preparing steel, cast iron, aluminum, and stainless-steel materials for welding, and ensuring quality work that meets or exceeds expectations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare steel parts for arc, gas, or MIG welding.
• Weld materials of limited thickness where the finished weld is not stressed.
• Recommend improvements for area products and processes.
• Report labor correctly and in a timely manner.
• Practice good communication and interact professionally in the plant.
• Produce quality work within expected time frames.
• Adhere to 5-S standards in the work area.
• Communicate discrepancies or errors on prints and materials lists.
• Collaborate with teams on second and third shifts to improve productivity and quality.
• Perform additional duties as specified by the Assembly Lead.
• Produce and maintain consistent quality of work, including dressing and grinding parts after welding.
• Demonstrate flexibility in high-stress, emergency situations, or priority changes.
• Work safely and in an environmentally responsible manner.

Requirements

• 2-5 years of related experience or training.
• High School diploma or equivalent technical school training.
• Ability to read and comprehend blueprints/diagrams.
• Basic computer skills.
• Strong organization skills and willingness to learn.
• Ability to demonstrate personal leadership and actively participate in problem-solving and continuous improvement efforts.
• Demonstrated flexibility in high-stress situations, priority changes, or new assignments.
