Welder - 2nd Shift

About the role

As a Welder on the 2nd shift (3:30pm–2:00am), you will produce high-quality PSP® products and help lead innovation in a culture of challenge and ambition.

Responsibilities

• Set up the work area, select and verify materials, and meet daily welding production and quality demands.
• Perform GTAW and GMAW welding on stainless steel and black iron in various positions and gauges; occasionally weld other materials.
• Troubleshoot welding equipment.
• Comply with health, safety (including OSHA), and environmental procedures; maintain a clean work area.
• Follow Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and TWI methodologies to improve production, safety, and quality.
• Expand skills and knowledge within the role.
• Carry out additional tasks as directed by the Department Lead.

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of GTAW experience; GMAW experience is a plus.
• Strong GTAW and GMAW welding skills and equipment knowledge.
• Ability to read and interpret cut sheets and engineering prints.
• Understanding of basic metallurgy and weld symbols.
• Proficiency in English for following directions, adhering to safety procedures, and meeting production standards.
• Basic sheet metal layout knowledge.
• Math skills including arithmetic and geometry.
• Ability to read a tape measure accurately to 1/16".
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Must be available for night/overnight shifts.

Physical Demands

• Frequent standing, bending, sitting, and use of hands.
• Close vision and ability to adjust focus.
• Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
