Weld Destruct Tech 2nd Shift (Contract)

About the Role

This is a 6-month contract position within Cosma, a division of Magna that provides a comprehensive range of body, chassis and engineering solutions to global customers. Through robust product engineering, outstanding tooling capabilities and diverse process expertise, Cosma continues to bring lightweight and innovative products to market.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, test, sort, sample or weigh processed, machined, fabricated or assembled parts or products for defects, wear and deviations from specifications
• Provide statistical analyses and segregation of suspect goods and initiate reject reports
• Use precision measuring instruments and complex test equipment
• Ensure specified quality assurance standards are met

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED
• Post-secondary education preferred, or related experience
• Minimum of 1-year experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
• Ability to be flexible in hours of work on short notice to meet internal/external customer requirements, including scheduled and nonscheduled overtime shifts
• Ability to work extended hours and altered schedules to provide coverage for production requirements and scheduled time off
• Possible shift work
• Computer skills; proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel preferred
• Ability to operate standard office equipment preferred

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to perform plasma cutting, grinding, and polishing
• Ability to multitask, handle stress, implement advice, avoid distractions, adapt to changes, and work well with others
• Ability to follow work instructions and routines to comply with TS16949 requirements
• Ability to manage workload, schedule, break times, productivity, and teamwork
