Weld Destruct Operator

About the role

Fleetwood Metal Industries, a division of Cleveland-Cliffs Tooling and Stamping, has an immediate opportunity for a Destruct Operator in our Sylacauga, Alabama Stamping Facility. The Destruct Operator supports the production weld department in a fast-paced work environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily weld destruct support to Production.
• Cut, destruct, and measure parts as required.
• Support and promote open communication with Quality Lead Hand and/or Supervisor regarding quality concerns.
• Perform WD clerical functions, including data input, maintaining, generating, and storing files.
• Follow the Weld Destruct priority board to maintain the correct destruct order.
• Study roadmaps for proper weld ID labelling and placement.
• Ensure quarterly WD records are completed on time, legible, and accurate for QA Supervisor.
• Conduct daily Ultrasonic Weld Inspection and report results to Weld Destruct Lead Hand as required.
• Follow and adhere to all safety rules surrounding WD equipment; report concerns immediately to Quality Supervisor or JHSC member.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Fluent with Weld Destruct best practices and methods (an asset).
• Solid WD background (an asset), including interpreting Customer Specs, utilizing various measuring tools and methods, and interpreting blueprints.
• Strong self-starter, motivated, and able to work well with others.
• Excellent attendance and strong written and oral communication skills.

• Excellent MS Office experience.
