Weld Operator 1

About the Role

Ichor Systems has an immediate opening for a Weld Operator 1 located in Sauk Rapids, MN. This role involves running various welding machines, including hand welding, TIG welding, and orbital welding of stainless steel and other high purity materials. You will execute all of Ichor’s Standard Operating Procedures related to manufacturing duties and study prints, drawings, and specifications to complete finished welds and lay out tasks using specialized computer welding equipment.

Responsibilities

• Process and inspect work in accordance with prints, maintaining quality and quantity performance levels.
• Perform a sequence of operations with consistent quality and efficiency.
• Demonstrate basic PC skills for manufacturing tasks.
• Work in a high-purity clean room environment.
• Handle fragile products, perform repetitive tasks, and maintain safety awareness.
• Use approved hand gauges to inspect component quality at the work center.
• Exercise discretion and independent judgment.
• Sit, stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs as required.
• Read and comprehend technical drawings, correspondence, and documents.
• Perform basic math operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) using whole numbers, fractions, percentages, and decimals.
• Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with supervisors, leads, and peers.
• Recognize deviations from accepted practices.
• Understand related mechanics, flow control elements, and MRP concepts.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• 1-2+ years of manufacturing or related work experience (semiconductor industry preferred).
• Commitment to quality and a customer-focused mindset.
• Successful completion of a 2-year professional trade program in Welding Technology or equivalent, or currently enrolled in such a program.
• Basic math, blueprint reading, and weld-to-print skills.
• 1-2 years of work experience performing TIG welding of stainless steel, or less experience with a Welding Technology degree (or currently enrolled).
• Mechanically inclined with visual acuity and manual dexterity.

Pay

The pay range for candidates based in Minnesota is $16.39 - $27.88 hourly, non-exempt, plus shift differential if applicable. Pay is determined by role, level, location, and additional job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, experience, tenure, and relevant education or training.
