About the role
Join our cause-driven and customer-service-focused YMCA Membership Sales & Service Team as a Welcome Center Representative. Under the supervision of the Director of Membership Sales & Service, you will manage member check-in, enforce safety protocols, conduct membership and program sales, handle telephone calls, regulate lobby traffic, and provide membership and program information while executing all YMCA policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Present a welcoming and friendly demeanor when greeting and serving members and program participants.
- Arrive on time, ready to work at the scheduled start of your shift, dressed in uniform with YMCA name tag.
- Enforce YMCA safety and membership policies at all times.
- Work independently and problem-solve to serve Y members effectively.
- Be open and willing to substitute for shifts where there is no coverage, including opening, closing, and weekend shifts.
- Conduct prospective member tours as needed.
- Handle member and non-member phone calls per YMCA policies.
- Be knowledgeable about YMCA policies and procedures and communicate them effectively to members and staff.
- Perform tasks such as cashing out, balancing daily transactions, and securing envelopes in the safe.
- Maintain an orderly and neat workspace during your shift and clean up when leaving.
- Respond to emergencies, assemble emergency equipment, and assist in care of the victim.
- Attend all staff meetings and work collaboratively as a team player.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.

- Take the initiative to talk with members and make them feel welcome.
- Multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Use "Listen First" skills to build relationships with members, program participants, and prospects.
- Make eye contact with members when talking to them.
- Ask members how they are doing or if they are having a good day.
- Make members feel welcome by being pleasant, cheerful, and calling members by name.
Schedule
Part-Time Hours Available: Weekday Afternoons/Evenings, Weekends
Pay
$16.00 - $17.00 per hour
