Welcome Center Manager
About the role
The Welcome Center Manager provides critical support to Astoria Park Conservancy's (APC) leadership team through management of our Welcome Center staff and systems including the membership program, food and beverage program, staff training and scheduling, apparel program, inventory, reservation system, corporate sponsor soaking program, and point of sale system. The Welcome Center Manager works closely with the Operations and Facilities Director to design and implement Welcome Center best practices and procedures using clear, concise, and consistent communication. This is a dynamic position which requires the ability to simultaneously manage multiple tasks through completion and a sharp eye for detail. A consistent, long term perspective is necessary when considering changes and improvements to Welcome Center best practices. The Welcome Center Manager is a key position in the APC's ability to provide the highest level of mission-based customer service to our guests and members. It is imperative that the Welcome Center Manager approach their customer service and leadership duties with the utmost professionalism and a deep understanding of the effect their behavior and actions have on Astoria's impact and team. The Welcome Center Manager will provide important capacity to the leadership team through direct support of the APC's leadership team. This position takes place onsite at Astoria Park Conservancy, 8a-4p, Sunday–Thursday.
Responsibilities
- Management of Welcome Center staff and systems including the membership program, food and beverage program, staff training and scheduling, apparel program, inventory, reservation system, corporate sponsor soaking program, and point of sale system
- Work closely with the Operations and Facilities Director to design and implement Welcome Center best practices and procedures using clear, concise, and consistent communication
- Simultaneously manage multiple tasks through completion with a sharp eye for detail
- Consider changes and improvements to Welcome Center best practices with a consistent, long term perspective
- Provide the highest level of mission-based customer service to guests and members
- Approach customer service and leadership duties with utmost professionalism and a deep understanding of the effect behavior and actions have on Astoria's impact and team
- Provide direct support to APC's leadership team
- Work closely with the Facilities Manager on day to day hot springs and Welcome Center task management
- Maintain working relationships with Executive Director, Events & Programming Director, Educational Programming Manager, Communications Manager, and Accountant
Qualifications

- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Computer literate and proficient with Google products
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
- Ability to work outside in all weather conditions
- Ability to research and learn new processes and systems
- Work effectively and efficiently within a team
- Strong staff management skills
- Passionate about health & wellbeing and community connectedness
- Three+ years relevant experience
- Strong customer service skills
- Lead by example
- Experience working with reservation software
