Weights and Measures Inspector

About the role

DeKalb County Government (Auburn, Indiana) has a flexible, part-time, in-person opportunity available immediately for a Weights and Measures Inspector.

Responsibilities

• Inspect weighing and measuring devices, commodities, and motor fuel outlets.
• Test various types of weight and measurement devices used in commercial transactions; approve or reject devices according to state regulations.
• Test energy-related product dispensers, including LP gas, oil, and gas meters.
• Check weight of prepackaged items, including food, hardware items, feed, and fertilizer.
• Maintain metrology lab, including conducting tests and calibrations of primary and secondary standards of mass, capacity, and length for industry and governmental agencies.
• Perform related duties as assigned.

Schedule

Part-time, flexible position — normally 20 hours per week (Monday - Friday).

Pay

Hourly wage is up to $28.50.
