Weigher Grader - Seasonal

About the role

This role is currently a seasonal position expected to last no more than four months, with potential for conversion to year-round employment.

Responsibilities

• Operate the PLC and necessary equipment for the grain elevator
• Load, unload and transfer grain and grain products efficiently, safely and hygienically
• Aid or lead in all aspects of grain handling, storage and facility maintenance
• Calibrate and conduct cross-checks on grain testing and weighing equipment
• Conduct toxin testing and sample grain for shipment or storage
• Record and report any errors or irregularities in documentation
• Develop product knowledge and handle hazardous product properties
• Comply with safety and environmental regulations
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• A high school diploma or GED equivalent
• One year of grain industry experience preferred
• Basic written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to work in a safety-conscious environment
• Ability to work in a quality-controlled setting
• Regularly walk, bend, stoop, climb stairs and ladders, lift up to 75 pounds, and enter confined spaces

Qualifications

• Must be aware of and adhere to all applicable safety and environmental regulations

Skills

• Knowledge of grain handling and storage procedures
• Ability to operate PLC and related equipment
• Proficiency in grain testing and weighing equipment
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
