Weekend Sanitation Tech-3rd Shift

About the Facility
3-shift, non-union operation with approximately 200 hourly staff members, including a mix of temporary and full-time associates. The plant is 100% food service, featuring 4 bag soup lines, 1 tub line, 18 kettles, 5 filling lines, and 4 packaging lines. Products include frozen soups and macaroni & cheese.
Kraft Heinz in Cedar Rapids began as Ashby Soups in the mid-1980s, founded by Jamie and Shannon Ashby and their mother using family recipes. The company was renamed Quality Chef Foods in the 1990s, acquired by Heinz in the mid-2000s, and merged with Kraft in 2015 to form Kraft Heinz.

About the Role
Join a team producing quality products for over 50 household brands in the U.S. This role focuses on maintaining clean and sanitary production areas as regulated by OSHA, including the spice room, prep rooms, blanch room, cook areas, filler areas, trash compactor area, and dumpster areas.
Responsibilities
- Pre-wash, wash, sanitize, and post-wash equipment as needed
- Clean all equipment in parts carts using the COP Tank
- Inspect parts carts to ensure all parts are in the correct location
- Empty trash cans through designated areas and keep all areas free from debris
- Dry pick floors in production areas as needed
- Wash pallets
- Inspect drains to remove full baskets and ensure proper replacement
- Conduct titration of chemical concentrations for COP wash solutions
- Perform MSS scheduled cleanings
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Able to adhere to a strict attendance policy
- Detail-oriented with good organizational skills
- Understand the use and types of chemicals allowed for each piece of equipment
- Follow instructions, sanitizing steps, and inspection procedures for cleanliness
- Knowledge of pre-rinse, wash, post-wash, and sanitize procedures
- Understand microorganisms such as bacteria, yeast, mold, protozoa, and viruses
- Basic knowledge of equipment care and maintenance
- Able to perform well under stress
- Work in extremes of hot and cold temperatures
- Communicate effectively and work independently or with others
- Follow all Food Safety Policies and Safety Procedures
- Implement Q-RMP standards as defined by the accountability list document
- Follow all safety protocols and perform job responsibilities safely

Schedule
- Thursday & Friday: 10:00 PM – 6:30 AM
- Saturday & Sunday: 6:00 PM – 6:30 AM
Pay
Starting pay rate: $21.23 per hour
