Sanitation Tech - 3rd shift

About the Role

This is a 3rd shift position with hours from 10:30 PM to 7:00 AM. The role is responsible for overall equipment cleanliness and sanitation of the assigned department area, ensuring compliance with safety, food safety, and quality policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly master sanitation schedules for the department area.
  • Follow daily production start-up procedures and conduct effective pre-op inspections to RTE (Ready-to-Eat) standards.
  • Cross-train in sanitation jobs and report any equipment or mechanical problems.
  • Use team efforts when inspecting the area and reference the CP (Cleaning Procedure) Manual for sanitation program questions.
  • Handle chemicals such as caustics, acids, quats, bleach, and peracetic acid following proper chemical handling procedures.
  • Consistently titrate correctly and replace gaskets as needed.
  • Ensure the room complies with regulations and follows proper SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures).
  • Adhere to safe work practices, GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices), and maintain sanitary conditions to ensure product quality.
  • Report any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality, or personnel safety to management.
  • Assume personal responsibility for maintaining a safe and healthy workplace by adhering to all safety policies and procedures.
  • Work weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed, and ensure regulatory compliance at all times.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Prior manufacturing and/or sanitation experience preferred.
  • Ability to troubleshoot minor mechanical issues.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a company pallet jack license; experience with pallet jack and/or forklift preferred.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and write simple instructions, correspondence, and memos.
  • Basic math skills: ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Must demonstrate open and honest communication and maintain positive interpersonal relationships.
  • Able to safely lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment, and self-motivated while willing to ask questions and seek direction.
  • Displays responsible behavior at work and is open to change.
  • Ability to work in cold, wet, noisy, dusty, and humid environments, and around required cleaning solutions.
  • Possesses good hand-eye coordination.
  • Able to stand on a hard surface for most of the shift, ascend and descend stairs, bend, stoop or crouch, grasp, and reach.

Schedule

3rd shift: 10:30 PM – 7:00 AM, with occasional weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
