WEEKEND CNA 's needed

Our Certified Caregivers (CNA's) provide non-medical home care services to clients of Griswold Home Care.

Responsibilities

• Performs tasks and activities in client’s residence as detailed on the Client Requested Services and care plan.
• Prepares simple meals.
• Performs personal care tasks, including:
  • Assistance with activities of daily living (bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, ambulating or transferring).
  • Meal preparation or assisting with eating.
  • Driving clients to appointments or errands.
• Performs companionship/sitter tasks, including:
  • Walking, exercising, reading, visiting, talking, game playing, or puzzles.
• Performs other tasks, including:
  • Safety supervision.
  • Medication reminders.
  • Laundry, light housekeeping, and shopping.
• Reports changes in client’s condition to the Agency office.
• Reports to work in a clean, well-groomed appearance.

Essential Duties

• Language and literacy skills adequate to communicate needs and requests of the client.
• Reliable transportation to and from a client’s home.
• For cases requiring transportation: valid driver’s license, state minimum required liability insurance coverage, and a positive driving record.
• Able to lift up to 40 pounds and alternate from stationary to traverse positions often and for extended periods of time.

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age.
• Able to understand the problems of elderly persons and persons with disabilities.
• Language and literacy skills adequate to communicate needs and requests of the client.
• Able to read care plan.
• Criminal background clearance.
• TB clearance according to Griswold policy.
• At least 3 satisfactory references or employment verifications.
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); associate degree preferred.
