About the role
The Website Manager position is within the Marketing department at C.A.R.E. Wellness Center & Services. This is a volunteer role located remotely or in Olympia, Washington State.
Responsibilities
- Content Management: Update website content regularly to reflect current programs, events, and services.
- Technical Updates: Implement technical updates and enhancements to improve website functionality and user experience.
- Service Integration: Manage and integrate online services, such as appointment scheduling, donations, and resource libraries.
- Collaboration: Work with the marketing team to ensure that the website aligns with the marketing calendar and campaigns.
- Performance Monitoring: Monitor website performance, analyze traffic data, and optimize search engines.
- User Support: Provide technical support for website-related issues to staff and users.
- Security Maintenance: Ensure website security protocols are up-to-date and protect user data.
Essential Functions
- Type 35+ words per minute (WPM)
- Excellent oral, text, and written skills
- Development and Coding: Write well-designed, testable, and efficient code using best software development practices.
- Design Collaboration: Create website layout/user interface by using standard HTML/CSS practices and collaborate with web designers to match visual design intent.
- Database Management: Be responsible for maintaining, expanding, and scaling our site’s databases.
- Backup and Recovery: Conduct regular website backups and be prepared to execute recovery actions in case of downtime.

Work Conditions & Physical Requirements
- Flexible remote working schedule with some scheduled time in-office
- Minimal bending, stooping, sitting, and kneeling
- Long periods of standing
- Exposure to animals, plants, perfume/incense, and nuts
- May require infrequent lifting up to 50 lbs
- Some local travel required
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Web Development, UI/UX, or a related field
- Proven experience in web programming, with a portfolio of previous work
- Top-notch programming skills and in-depth knowledge of modern HTML/CSS
- Familiarity with at least one of the following programming languages: PHP, ASP.NET, JavaScript, or Ruby on Rails
- A solid understanding of how web applications work, including security, session management, and best development practices
- Adequate knowledge of relational database systems, Object-Oriented Programming, and web application development
- Experience with network diagnostics and network analytics tools
- Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills
- Some Graphic and Media Design preferred
