Academic Staff – Terminal (Fixed Term)
About the role
The Website Content Specialist researches, develops, and maintains written content and visual assets on UW-Stout Polytechnic websites using the Drupal content management systems (CMS). The position supports UW-Stout's strategic marketing initiatives for student recruitment, retention, and industry partnerships through written and image-based content and collaborates with other MarCom team members to improve communication pathways leading to the website, including email communication flows.
Responsibilities
- Research academic programs, departments, and university initiatives to develop accurate and engaging website content
- Write, edit, and organize website content that aligns with brand standards, user needs, and evolving search optimization best practices, including SEO and AI-powered search
- Create visually engaging, user-focused webpages using Drupal while maintaining brand consistency
- Collaborate with Marketing & Communications team members on digital marketing initiatives and related content projects
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a related degree or five years of related experience
- Exceptional writing and editing skills
- Experience creating digital content for websites or other online platforms
- Ability to research unfamiliar topics and create clear, engaging web content
- Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- Comfort working with content management systems (CMS); Drupal preferred
- Strong visual design understanding and working knowledge with Adobe Creative Suite software
- Strong organizational, creative and analytical problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
- Ability to work collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with search engine optimization (SEO) and AI search best practices
- Knowledge of HTML and CSS
- Familiarity with PHP, jQuery and/or related programming languages
- Experience in a university or higher education environment and/or a large nonprofit organization
- Experience developing and analyzing integrated digital marketing campaigns
- Knowledge of customer relationship management systems (CRM)
- Strong strategic, marketing project management skills
Pay
Minimum starting salary of $45,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
