Responsibilities

• Operate a heavy-duty diesel-powered dump truck to haul materials such as dirt, rock, aggregates, or non-agitated concrete.
• Start engines, manipulate throttles, switches, levers, and pedals to control equipment.
• Identify and avoid potential hazards, including utility lines, other equipment, workers, and falling objects.
• Perform routine servicing and adjustments to ensure proper equipment operation.
• Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures; report unsafe activities to supervisors or HR.
• Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
• Provide leadership through example and knowledge-sharing.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Proficiency in English for written and oral communications.
• Ability to recognize and understand road signs.
• Knowledge of and adherence to company safety policies and procedures.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• Three or more years of related construction experience preferred.

Licenses and Certifications: Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License with Tank Endorsement (minimum).

Skills

• Manual dexterity sufficient to operate equipment and handle materials.
• Ability to perceive attributes of objects and materials.

Working conditions

• Outdoor exposure to varying weather conditions (rain, sun, snow, wind).
• Regular exposure to outside weather, extreme temperatures, wet/humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and high or precarious places.
• Loud noise levels in the work environment.
• Heavy physical activity involving strenuous day-to-day tasks of a productive/technical nature.
