Responsibilities

  • Build, assemble, fit together, align, plumb, and set forms for molding concrete structures using plans.
  • Inspect forms while concrete is being placed.
  • Direct others in stripping forms after concrete placement.
  • Install miscellaneous materials integral to concrete structures and precast concrete elements.
  • Prepare for slipforming traffic rail and median barrier.
  • Install permanent metal deck forms.
  • Operate power tools as needed.
  • Enhance company operations through proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
  • Provide leadership through example and knowledge sharing.
  • Perform other assigned duties.
  • Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures; report unsafe activities to supervisors and/or Human Resources.

Requirements

  • Education: Less than a high school diploma.
  • Language skills: Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words, recognize similarities and differences between words and number series, print, and speak simple sentences.
  • Experience: Minimum 0-3 years of related construction experience preferred.

Physical demands

  • Heavy physical activity performing strenuous day-to-day tasks of a primarily productive/technical nature.
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to reach, handle items, and work with fingers.
  • Able to perceive attributes of objects and materials.

Working conditions

  • Outdoor exposure to changing weather conditions (rain, sun, snow, wind, etc.).
  • Regular exposure to outside weather conditions, extreme cold, extreme heat, wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and high or precarious places.
  • Loud noise levels in the work environment.
